I walked in with a flat tire, and they told me what caused the flat, and how to prevent it in the future, which was great. I asked if they could change it for me, which they did. After that, they asked me if there was anything else they could do for me. I then told them my back brakes weren't working well, and was wondering if I needed new pads. They said no, its just that they're loose, and asked me if I wanted them to tighten them for me. I said sure. This took him a few seconds to tighten the know, and after that, they asked if I wanted them to tighten the front ones while they were at it, I said sure again, not knowing that each and every action they were doing was an extra $8.50 charge. I figured there would be a labor charge for the whole operation, but never did they tell me that they reapplied it for each and every small action they performed. The brake tightening took no less than 10 seconds for both the back and front tires, and they charged me twice for labor, totalling $17.00 for turning two knobs. I felt that the $8.50 charge for changing the back tube was fair, but the $17.00 for tightening the brakes felt wrong.
When I got to the register, I was so happy that my bike was fixed I even tipped him for how nice he was. This was before I knew how much he upcharged me for his exhausting feats of labor... I feel like I was scammed.
I've been slowly upgrading my road bike and come in once a week or so for parts. Always am impressed with the service and knowledge of the staff! They've helped me regain my love for cycling!
Really friendly people, give great advice and have open stands on Sundays from 4-6 so you can do the work yourself using their tools for free
TL;DR Don't come here for repairs if you don't know much about repairing a bike. They will prey on your inexperience and charge you multiple times for labor. (Info below)
Very helpful and not afraid to take the time to explain and answer questions. Gave me lots of options, offered to order items I needed. Very reasonable prices. Locally owned and that is another good reason to support them. They have something for everyone, any age, any walk of life.
Good place to buy bikes. Tons of stuff to select.
