How have you done? Well tonight on a scale of 1-10, your ER triage staff scored a 0. Waited just under 3 hrs to be taken to a room, after presenting with a child in her own wheelchair, c/o pain level 9 d/t a shoulder injury (although never once asked if any meds had been taken)... but - because she has had to learn to live with pain, she doesn't 'look' like she's in pain. Kids don't present in pain because they are drug seeking; they hurt. As a matter of face, she told the back ER staff that nothing helped with her pain & so she takes nothing, not even one Ibuprofen. Kids are taught that they get help at a hospital; they don't expect to wait 3 hrs to be seen, but neither did her mom. After getting taken back, she was seen within 25 minutes, X-ray ordered, taken 15 minutes later, waited another 45 minutes, given a sling. Then finally home 4 and a half hrs later. It would have been faster to go to Riley. On a good note, the PA-C, Katie, was great, listened and presented with empathy and understanding as did our RN, Amanda.
We waited in the waiting room for 2 plus hours after walking to halls with my suffering INFANT! Due to the fact he could not breathe. When we finally got a room we waited another 30 mins for someone to come in.. it was beyond ridiculous! I will never recommend IU health ER
This is the hospital I had my baby and that department was AMAZING and my doctor who delivered was fantastic along with the nurses but I will never go back to the ER.
we arrived at the ER around 11pm due to my son having trounle breathing / fever
Went in by ems with signs of a heart attack only to have rude comments made about me laughed at and made to sit in the waiting room for almost 2 hours. A Lady showed up after I did with chest pain and she was taken right back. So I left and filed a complaint on the way out. Went to St. E by ems and when I told them I was having chest pain they got right to work.
I arrived around 10:30am on a Friday morning...was admitted to a room within 5 minutes. I received OUTSTANDING care from start to finish. NP that oversaw my situation was excellent. Nursing staff were excellent. They even helped me by checking on my 74 year old dad who was waiting on me in the waiting room! They went above and beyond and I feel that I received excellent care.
4 hour wait just to tell me to go somewhere else with a specialist
My son was diagnosed with Rsv the night before we took him into the ER..
