This is the best place! A group of 30+ of us come down from Chicago for a weekend for a weekend every year and love everyone here! Rob is the best and the service is awesome!
Other than that, it is a great ride with fun stops at various islands, good fishing spots, and a great wildlife expierence (saw a bald eagle last time).
Nice trip down the wildcat. Friendly staff and great rates.
I will warn you that this creek is no cake walk. Everytime I have gone myself or others have some close to being seriously injured. Parts of it can be very dangerous.
Very laid back down to earth people.
Great prices!
This place is sweet! Great service and idea. The rate is fair and the Wildcat is fun.
The key to having a great time is to go after it rains hard. (>1inch). After more than an inch of rain falls the wildcat starts to flow. This makes the 6 hour trip into a 5 hour trip with hardly any paddling. Be prepared to maneuver around trees. The waters are clear enough yet have some obstacles to make things fun. The sights are great going downstream. Be prepared to see forested river banks, squirrels, eagles, hawks, deer, birds, farm fields, bridges, other canoeist, varied topography, large rock bluffs. Give it a go. - After a rain. (do the rain dance)
Today was my third time renting from this company. I had a great experience the previous two times with reasonable discounts; the creek is also very scenic and fun to navigate in canoes. HOWEVER, it is not fun to navigate this river in canoes are are unstable. Two members from our group had to be picked up because they sustained injuries from their canoe overturning 5 times. No one else in our group shared the same struggles and everyone else in our group was less experiences than these two individuals. I'm glad that no matter what, this would be my last time renting from this company because it is preposterous that a company would allow a canoe that is not seaworthy to be given to a group for rental. Their maintenance practices are clearly not up to par, though I doubt there are enough regulations to ensure that a business like this operates with the highest regard to safety. Clearly they don't since the livery reeked of marijuana upon our return. If you're a Purdue student, take the time to travel to another part of the state for a canoe trip, don't waste your money just because this company is conveniently located in Tippecanoe County.
