I wanted to get my windows tinted. That's a service they don't offer. However, they not only set up my tinting service for me, they provided me with a loaner and handled getting the car to and from the tinting location. AND they did it with a smile and couldn't have been happier to help. Did I mention this was a used car purchase on a 10 yr old vehicle! I can't think of any other dealership that would take these steps to take care of a customer. I should also note that this was all done more than a month after the purchase.
I can't say nice enough things about my experience at Mike Raisor VW. I live in Indy and had a less than stellar experience at a VW dealership while I was exploring trading in a Jetta that I was underwater on. I saw a '17 Jetta online at Raisor, reached out to them via email, and ended up working with Emily who worked with me long distance to make sure it was worth me making the trip to West Lafayette.
Absolute worst experience, it has been two months of headache and still no solution. No return phone calls after specifically asking for Chris Hale to contact me. I contacted VW America and Chris communicated to them he was in and out of the dealership.. after two months I dio not think that is valid excuse. My 2014 VW Passat is having electrical issues, indicator lights continue to randomly go on and off, radio turns on by itself, and they want $3000 to fix my timing. I was told that my issues were because I didn't get my oil changes at their dealership. My vehicle has symptoms that are not relevant to timing.
They put a hole in my seat and the mechanic put his greasy hands on my headliner. They attempted to clean it with brake dust cleaner but soiling is still there. I guess their philosophy is to ignore the problem until it goes away. I will be sure to share my experience everytime I get an opportunity.
I don't think I'll ever want to replace the GTI, but when it's time to get her a new friend, I'll be back to Raisor to find it.
Service here is great. Austin is very nice and got me taken care of quickly. I was provided with a well-equipped loaner vehicle. I also really liked how they sent me an actual video from the technician of my GTI showing what was wrong with it. Coming here is worth the drive from Indianapolis! I will be back.
The dealership wasn't overly pushy about buying a car. Of course the are on commission so they do push a little, but far less than other places. They also seemed fairly knowledgeable about the cars they sell.
So many other places make the sale and once your gone could care less to take care of you. So, if you're in the market for a car, go see Emily G. or Nick S. and you won't be disappointed.
In the end, I traveled up I-65 to buy a new Jetta and ended up coming home with a certified use GTI. Jettas are great, but GTIs are even better!
This is my second and last VW, do yourself a favor and avoid Mike Raisor Volkswagon and Volkswagon Passat at all costs. Don't let their 3.1 review rating fool you, most of the positives are sales and not service related. It's easy to please a customer buying a car with new car smell emotion, the true character of a dealership is the service after.
I would say if you are in the market for a new or used VW, or any make honestly, there isn't a better place to go than Mike Raisor VW. Having purchased a couple of vehicles through them, I would say that their sales associates are knowledgeable and friendly and will do whatever they can to get you the vehicle you want. For me though, it's been the after sales service that goes so far beyond what you will find anywhere else.
