I have been using the big chain stores for years, but one weekend i was driving by and stopped by for some advise on a project. They staff steered me in the right direction and gave me different options to solve my problems. It truly helps when you have a staff with hands on experience. Shop service is top rate!!! They will mill wood to any shape size you want... just ask, and the price is fair.
I am a very novice woodworker, and I can tell you that having knowledgeable help is an absolute must. The staff is helpful and willing to work through a cut list with you. They also have a cutoffs area where you can find pieces of nice hard woods for small projects.
