My husband's and my experiences with Dr. Mahajan have been outstanding--he is highly caring, compassionate, gentle, and cordial and consistently responsive to our questions and concerns--via phone, email, and in person. His staff has also been readily available and tremendously helpful, and procedure preparation instructions are concise and clear. We recommend him sincerely and heartily to all prospective patients.
I'm new to the area and was looking for a new health care provider -- I've been trying to set up an appointment here for almost 6 days now. They rarely answer their phone, they do not have accountability when they say they will call me back, and the few times I have gotten through to someone, they have fallen down on their promises.
I met Dr. Mahajan for colonoscopy as part of annual checkup. He explained the bowel prep details very clearly and provided printed instructions easy to follow at home. He allowed me to split the laborious prep time to two days rather than one in order to ease the physical strain. After performing colonoscopy, he interpreted the results in simple terms. Now I can continue to lead a healthy life. Dr. Mahajan’s dedicated service to this community will stand tall for years to come.
I wrote a previous review on a work email account that I no longer have access to, so I cannot change it now.. therefore I'm writing a new one on my personal email account. I am incredibly disappointed with the office of Dr. Mahajan. I recently moved from Lafayette to Tennessee, and therefore will not see Dr. Mahajan any longer. I informed his office of this before moving, and yet I still somehow received a call a month later about how I *NEEDED* to schedule an appointment with him. I informed them of my move again and they thanked me and that was it. Now, two months later.. I try to refill one of my prescriptions that is supposed to be good through next January to find out that Dr. Mahajan called and canceled it with the pharmacy without notifying me. I had not found a new gastroenterologist in Nashville yet and it can take weeks to months to get into a specialist like that. The medication Dr. Mahajan canceled is to help control my autoimmune disorder and must be injected every 2 weeks to suppress my immune system. I find it incredibly negligent of Dr. Mahajan to cancel my prescription in the manner he did prior to ensuring I would be alright. I also think that in instances such as that it would be nice to receive some notification regarding the matter.
It's a shame, I hear the doc is great, but the office staff seems horrible (or overworked?), and my experience is not unlike other reviews I see here sadly.
Dr. Mahajan is a proactive and compassionate physician. He personally contacted me by phone to inform and follow up on my procedures surrounding digestive concerns. Dr. Mahajan's instructions are clear and concise. I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Mahajan as he performs the most thorough procedures.
