So hopefully it will only be about a month and a half that we have to wait to get the jewelry back even though it was originally promised in a couple of weeks.
So today I received a call saying the piece of jewelry was ready to pick up (yep, still no estimate). When I go into the store, the associate then tells me that the piece still hasn't been fixed, but that it'll be $30 (the long awaited estimate), and that it will be yet another couple of weeks for the job to be done.
Staff is rude here not the best Kay's I have been to will be finding a different one to work with
Wasn't happy with the service and how I was treated at all they were supposed to call me when my ring came in they never did I finally had to contact them 2 seperate times just to be told my fiance's engagement ring had been in for 3 days sent it back off to get re sized after I went to the store to make sure I was happy with the ring once again was never contacted when the ring was ready for pickup and still fit the exact same as it did before resizing so I believe they never even sized it down then whenever I picked it up to take it with me they tried to just put the rings in a bag I had to tell them and keep insisting that I wanted a box for the ring not to mention they still couldn't get my name put in the system correctly after telling them it wasn't right more than 10 times and I was even spelling it out for them just seemed like they didn't care about the customer at all they were very un professional i highly recommended anyone wanting to shop at Kay to go to a different store and save yourself the terrible experience I had the staff are more worried about talking to eachother than helping you out so all in all I wouldn't recommend anyone using this store I will never step foot in this location again just sucks that a very special moment in life had to be such a headache for me
We just move here from the Terre Haute area and this month our ring inspections are due(engagement,wedding band and his band) and it just so happens I broke another prong on my engagement ring yesterday. So I went in they seemed nice and helped me right away inspected and checked both our bands. I showed them the engament ring which he suggested changing to Platinum as it is harder and may not break as easy. However, when he got to the warrenty part he tells me to fix the prong it's not covered under my warrenty and would cost about 250 to fix also told me I had a chip in my center stone. Which last I knew was an inclusion(?) Or just a flaw in the stone. Now last time I bent a prong it was covered so I left as I did want to discuss the possibility of switching to Platinum with the husband which they quoted at about 450. I was pretty sure fixing the prong would be covered so I called my husband and he agreed, I tried customer service and since I'm not the one that bought the ring they couldn't give me information, so I called the wonderful staff at the Terre Haute location who we originally bought the ring from and they confirmed repairs should be covered under the warrenty. So with that and based on other reviews of this Lafayette store I will be driving to Terre Haute to have the prong fixed (or changed to Platinum) and if the stone needs replacing I have more confidence in the team at the TH location in the Honey Creek Mall, they always seem to remember us or at least my ring and we get our rings back within the time frame they give us.
It was initially said that the estimate would take a couple of days and they would get ahold of us to see if we wanted to go through with it.... Never happened. On our ticket slip, it had a pickup date of the January 1st. We went in to see if it was ready around the 3rd. The associate then proceeded to tell us we were wrong and that the estimation date was the 1st (still didn't have an estimate). He took our names and numbers to give us a call with the estimate in a day or so (I'm sure that paper was then sent straight to the nearest trash can). And you guessed it, no call with an estimate.
When I asked how we never received a call about the stimate, the associate tried to say that a call was made, but it must have been technologies fault that I didn't get it... even though there is only one call from the store.
This store is a joke! I had brought in a piece of jewelry to have an extension put on back in the middle of December, and the store is now saying that they just received an estimate for it.
I am sure not every Kay Jewelers is like this, but I would not waste my time with this store.
Staff has always treated my wife and her jewelry needs well. Always offer to clean her jewelry when we visit the store, even the pieces that were not purchased through Kay's.
